How to Choose Your Oil
In Five Element medicine, we are all a blend of every Element — but one is often more active, or in greater need of support, at different times in our lives. As you answer the questions, notice which Element you choose most often. This is usually the Element that will support you best right now. If you feel torn between two Elements, trust your intuition — or choose the one whose description or ritual resonates most deeply in this moment. You can return to a different Element oil whenever your needs change.

As well as using your Element oil daily for facial Gua Sha, or on its own, you can add the mini ritual below for extra emotional and energetic support.
🌊 Water Element
You’re intuitive, sensitive, and deeply reflective. You need periods of rest and alone time to feel balanced, but can slip into fear or overwhelm when stressed.
Mini Ritual:
Apply Water Element Oil to your lower back. Place both hands over your belly and breathe deeply.
Say: “I am safe. I trust the flow of life.”
🌱 Wood Element
You’re driven, passionate, and love growth. When out of balance, you may feel stuck, frustrated, or impatient.
Mini Ritual:
Apply Wood Element Oil to your temples. Gently tap the point between your eyebrows. Inhale slowly.
Say: “I am flexible. I move forward with ease.”
🔥 Fire Element
You’re joyful, expressive, and full of warmth. You uplift others easily, but stress can bring anxiety or emotional burnout.
Mini Ritual:
Apply Fire Oil to your heart centre. Lightly tap your chest while smiling softly.
Say: “I am joy. I radiate calm connection.”
🌍 Earth Element
You’re nurturing, grounded, and deeply caring. Stress can lead to overthinking or worry, especially about others.
Mini Ritual:
Apply Earth Oil to the centre of your chest (CV17). Breathe slowly into your belly.
Say: “I nourish and am nourished.”
🌬️ Metal Element
You’re precise, thoughtful, and love clarity. When unbalanced, you may become critical, withdrawn, or overly focused on perfection.
Mini Ritual:
Apply Metal Oil to the sides of your nose. Exhale slowly through your nose.
Say: “I let go. I create space for what matters.”
